A growing number of humans believe that they are actually aliens sent to Earth to save the planet, a new poll has revealed.

The group of supposed extra terrestrials, who dub themselves star people or "starseeds", claims to have come from other dimensions to help heal the planet.

Members believe they will usher mankind into a “golden age” of great happiness, prosperity and achievement.

There are more than four million Google search results for the term starseeds, with endless social media videos by people claiming to be from another world.

The claims follow a YouGov poll which revealed half of Britons think aliens exist and 7% reckon they’ve seen a UFO.

Starseeds think they have re-awakened from another planet to be born here, as opposed to “Earth souls” who reincarnate on the planet, and they say they can move between galaxies by meditating.

Researchers from Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Huddersfield said: “Starseeds believe they have reawakened from another planet to be born here.

“Starseeds believe they are conduits between divine realms and the Earth and that they can transport between galaxies via meditation.”

Their way of communicating is by using “light language”, which goes beyond human limitations and speaks to our souls.

Telltale signs of being a starseed including things such as feeling a lack of belonging, being spiritual, believing in karma and searching for the meaning in life.

Other qualities are empathy and being sensitive, while it is claimed that they suffer more physical health issues as their souls aren’t used to having a human body surrounding it.

However, although they want to help humanity, they also claim to get overwhelmed and feel the need to recharge their batteries by spending time alone – not at all like a typical human being does at any point whatsoever.
