The Men in Black are real – and could come calling if you report a UFO sighting

The Men in Black are real – and they could come calling if you report a UFO sighting.

Government officials are understood to be secretly collecting data about
possible alien encounters, the Daily Star Sunday has learned.

The disclosure comes after a reader told us how he was visited by two Government officials after reporting a possible UFO sighting to police.

The education worker, who lives with his wife and three children in Leeds, described himself as “very sane”.

He did not want his identity made public because of the potential impact claims he had been visited by “Men in Black” would have on his family.

In the Hollywood film starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, the Men in Black is a top-secret organisation that monitors alien activity on Earth.

Our UFO spotter said: “I saw a dark orange ball in the sky. At first I thought it was a helicopter or a light aircraft in trouble. But instead of falling to the ground the ball just hovered.

“I was a bit surprised and confused. The thought that it was a UFO or whatever didn’t enter my head. I got home and thought there might be a website where you can report unusual sightings of aircraft, but I couldn’t find any so I ended up contacting the police.”

Our reader said about 10 days later, two men arrived at his house.

He added: “There were two ordinary men in suits with briefcases who flashed some form of ID and said they were Government officials. They asked to speak to me about what they called ‘the event’ in which I saw a glowing object.

“They wanted to know the location, the time and how high I thought it was. I asked where they were from, but they smiled and left.” When he told his nine-year-old son about it, the lad asked: “Were they the Men in Black?”

Our reader added: “I laughed, but then thought, ‘Who were they?’. I did a bit of research and saw the MoD used to collate figures, but stopped in 2009.

“I am completely at a loss as to who this could be.”

Nick Pope, who investigated UFOs for the Government, said: “Whoever these individuals were, this will only fuel the rumours the MoD is still secretly investigating UFOs, despite official denials.”

The MoD told us: “We don’t respond to reported UFO sightings.”
