A driver trying to catch her keys was left with them lodged inside her face when her friend threw it to her and she accidentally stabbed herself.
Horrendous photos show the key lodged in Renée Lariviere's cheek while the handle juts out, while an x-ray shows it buried just bellow her eyeball.
The incident happened after the 24-year-old was leaving her apartment in Ontario, Canada, to go out for a McDonald's.

A friend chucked the key towards her which she attempted to catch, but in doing so pulled them towards her face before the sharp edge pierced through the skin, burrowing into her nasal cavity.
Lariviere said she initially didn't know the key had punctured her face, with the adrenaline preventing her from feeling any pain.
However, she was aghast when she looked at her reflection of the car window and could see the key had fully penetrated just above her eye socket.
Her friends immediately called an ambulance which arrived minutes later with doctors and nurses left "amazed" by the "fluke accident".
Lariviere shared her story on TikTok last week, saying of the incident: "I felt a pressure, but I felt like I just got hit [with the keys] in the face, like I missed my catch.

"My friend looked at me and said, 'oh my God, don't move', and he started panicking.
"The doctors there were amazed. There were doctors coming from different departments to see, because they couldn't believe it.
"I had one of them come and ask to take pictures so he could show his students. He was an emergency room doctor, so he was trying to show [them] that anything could happen."
Luckily, Renée has been left without a scar, having fully recovered from surgery.
Renée said: "Looking at it now, I'd think there's no way that could even happen.
"Like what are the odds of that happening, or [it's] just dumb luck I guess, because there is a bit of luck that nothing bad actually happened.
"It was a near miss. If it had hit somewhere else, it could have done quite a bit of damage."
