A mum said she was left "crying and shaking" after an Aldi cashier scanned her items so quickly they piled up and hit the floor "like a slot machine".
Nicola Fuller, 35, claimed the worker refused to slow down his "ferocious" scanning speed even after her food overflowed from the packing area and crashed to the floor – leaving other shoppers "gawping".
The Teesside mum-of-three insisted that she was loading her shopping as "quickly as possible" but the staff member was "continuously scanning" and "piling the food high".
She "frantically reached" to place each item in her bags as "huge towers" of groceries soon loomed precariously over the edge of the packing area.
"He could see my struggle and when a tin finally fell, I began crying and shaking" she told TeessideLive.
"I knelt to the floor to pick up the food while simultaneously trying to watch my children", who are aged two, three, and seven.
She added: "I asked the cashier to please stop scanning through more food and that it felt like he was throwing the items at me."
Nicola said his response was "blunt and aggressive", as he said that she "obviously wasn't packing quickly enough" and that she was a "liar" for her accusations.

At this point, another Aldi worker swooped in to "diffuse" the tense supermarket altercation, before the cashier finally "walked away".
"The other worker was very lovely and understanding," said Nicola.
"But the incident has personally knocked my confidence.

"Shopping with three children can be challenging enough without suffering panic and anxiety at the checkout and leaving the store in tears.
"I was shocked how someone in customer care could disregard my struggle with no empathy or care whatsoever.
"It's totally unacceptable."
Nicola has since reported the incident to Aldi's customer care team, who told her they have raised the issue with the area manager.

Nicola's experience raises wider questions about the limited space in Aldi packing areas.
She said: "I've never liked the checkouts.
"It's always a rush, and the area is so small.
"I've never had an experience as horrid as this one though."
In response to the incident, an Aldi spokesperson said: “Our colleagues are trained to work at a pace suitable for each individual customer.
"We have spoken to Ms Fuller to apologise for her experience at the Guisborough store and hope to see her again in the future.”
