Lindsey Boylan, who accused Gov. Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment, is taking aim at a former colleague she accuses of “defaming” her online.

Boylan, a former aide to Cuomo, said that Jim Malatras, chancellor of the State University of New York, was doing the Cuomo administration’s bidding when he took aim at her two years ago in a tweet after she spoke up about the “toxic work culture” for women in the second-floor executive chamber.

“While @jimmalatras was head of @RockeffelerInst, the second floor asked him to defame me online after I spoke up about a toxic work culture.”

On May 22, 2019, Malatras tweeted “I saw someone twitterbombing about life on the 2nd floor to get some attention for unrelated political purposes.” Along with his tweet, Malatras attached four photographs of taking his young son to work, including one with Cuomo. “Is working in the chamber tough? You bet. Long hours? Yes. It should be. But my son was often a welcomed part of it so I could serve,” he tweeted.

Boylan responded that her tweet was about “being a mother, being pregnant & deciding when and if it was feasible to have children myself,” using the hashtag #tonedeaf in her tweet to Malatras.

Boylan, 36, is a Democratic candidate for Manhattan borough president. She accused Cuomo, 63, of grabbing her face and kissing her at a wedding reception in 2019. She is one of three women to accuse Cuomo of sexual harassment.
