Argos is set to shut ANOTHER shop in August, bringing number to eight… so are any of them near YOU?
- Argos has outlined plans to close another branch as it pivots to selling online
- The catalogue retailer has already closed all its stores in the Republic of Ireland
Argos is set to close another one of its UK stores this month as pushes ahead with plans to shutter 100 of its shops by 2024.
The catalogue retailer, owned by Sainsbury’s, has already shut four stores across Britain and a further 34 in the Republic of Ireland.
Now, Argos is planning to close its outlet in the Morfa Shopping Park in Swansea on August 22 in line with the company’s plans to move away from the high street.
The plans are set to see the Milton Keynes based firm shutter shops and in some cases replace them with smaller branches inside Sainsbury’s supermarkets.
Argos’ closures come as an array of the UK’s top high street brands have begun shuttering stores amid the rise of online shopping and the cost-of-living crisis.
