A man poured his drink on an elderly man’s head and pummeled him during a fight on a Bronx MTA bus, new surveillance video shows.
The 83-year-old victim was attempting to get off an MTA bus at Barnes Avenue and East Gun Hill Road in Williamsbridge around 5:30 p.m. May 31 when he got into a spat with a younger passenger, cops said.
Things heated up when the suspect poured his bottle filled with a yellow-colored beverage on the older man’s head, as they both stood toward the front of the bus, video released by the NYPD Wednesday shows.
The octogenarian is shown repeatedly trying to push away and fend off his attacker.
Cops said the suspect then punched his victim in the face repeatedly, which is not shown in the footage.
The assailant then got off the bus and fled west on East Gun Hill Road.
The victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center with multiple facial fractures.
The suspect is between 30 and 40 years old, around 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, and was last seen wearing a denim jacket, blue jeans, a black hat and black sneakers, authorities said.
