THREE people have been injured after being attacked with an axe in a Lidl supermarket in France.
The axeman turned the weapon on himself after going on the rampage at the store in Jeumont, in the north of the country.
Two of the victims were seriously injured while the third person's injuries were less severe.
The man, who is in his forties, later turned the axe on himself and also was seriously injured, local daily La Voix du Nord reported.
There were no immediate details on the motivation for the attack, which happened about 7pm local time on Monday.
He reportedly entered the store with a bag that also contained knives.

About an hour before the store was due to close, the man began attacking customers near the checkout area, chasing them in the store while they were shopping.
One of the customers tried to stop him with a shopping trolley and lost a finger in the process.
A large amount of blood was seen on the floor of the supermarket, causing one police officers who responded to slip.
Twelve witnesses, including four children, who saw the horror were treated by psychologists and doctors.

Earlier this year, chilling pictures and video emerged of the bow and arrow bloodbath launched in a supermarket by a crazed killer.
Footage was released at the start of trial of Espen Bråthen, 38, showing him on a deadly rampage with the weapon in a Co-op Extra store in Kongsberg, Norway last October.
In 2018, an ISIS gunman killed three and injured 16 others in a rampage and supermarket hostage attack.
The attacker, named as 25-year-old Redouane Lakdim, was killed in a hail of bullets after anti-terror cops stormed the Super U store in Trebes, south-east of Toulouse.
