Baby found dead with critically injured woman at Mernda home

An infant has been found dead and a woman critically injured at a home in Melbourne’s outer north overnight.

Emergency services were called to a home on Langdon Drive in Mernda at about 9pm on Friday night with reports of a critically injured baby.

A woman was found at the same address with life-threatening injuries. She was airlifted to hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident at this stage.
