THE family of a mum who is thought to have drowned in the sea have paid tribute to her.
The emergency services were called out to the scene in Redcar on the Yorkshire coast on the evening of July 26last week to reports that a woman was in the water.
Debby Tarantino, 57, was rushed to hospital but was later pronounced dead.She worked as a call taker for Cleveland Police in the force control room.
Debby’s family has now paid tribute to her saying: “We are truly devastated by the loss of our beautiful Debby.
"Debby was a much-loved daughter, mother, sister, nannie and partner who will be greatly missed.
“Debby was a friend to many and was loved dearly by her colleagues in the force control room at Cleveland Police.”
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “Police were called after concerns were raised for a woman seen in the water near to Majuba Road in Redcar.
"The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance service colleagues but sadly later died.
"Our thoughts remain with the woman’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.”
The incident resulted in a major response from the emergency services. An air ambulance and RNLI life boat both attended the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
