Balmy weather and a bank holiday Monday saw boozers hit the town hard on Sunday night.

Drinkers made the most of their extra day off – the third this month – and headed out in droves to enjoy themselves.

Bars and clubs were packed out with revellers dressed in their Sunday best as celebrations spilled into the street in Leeds.

Sunday was the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures soaring to 24.4C (75F) in Plymouth, beating Saturday’s high of 24.3C in West Yorkshire.

During the day, people flocked to the coast to make the most of the sun – with beaches from Cornwall to Brighton crowded with umbrella-wielding beachgoers.

This is the last bank holiday until the end of August and partygoers out on the town were not about to let it go to waste.

Dressed in their finest summerware – or fancy dress – and fully glammed up, thirsty clubbers posed as they got their nights out started.
