BORIS Johnson has been urged to freeze out the ex-minister who has masterminded his leadership campaign.
The wannabe PM is keen to promote Gavin Williamson into his Cabinet after he delivered the support of MPs to secure a place in the final Tory leadership run-off.
But security sources have warned against giving the former Defence Secretary any job that gives him access to sensitive information following his dismissal over a National Security Council leak.
It has sparked a row within BoJo’s camp, as it would bar him from holding a string of top posts.
Insiders say the alert was raised by Cabinet Secretary Sir Mark Sedwill.
But a source in Mr Johnson’s camp insists the mandarin has confirmed that Mr Williamson was not the source of the leak.
