Petito's body was later discovered in Wyoming and the autopsy results revealed that she was murdered as a result of strangulation.

At this time, Laundrie is a person of interest in Petito's case and has been missing since September 14, 2021.

This was also the last time Petito was seen alive.

Laundrie's parents claim he left home to go hiking in Carlton Reserve, Florida.

This was also allegedly the last time they saw him.

September 15

Laundrie was named a person of interest in Petito's case after cops said he was "hindering this investigation" by not cooperating with them.

September 16

Utah police released bodycam footage from an "incident" that involved the two on August 12.

The couple was pulled over after driving off from an incident at the Moonflower Co-op in Moab, where a witness said he noticed Petito hit Laundrie during a verbal fight.

The footage showed Petito was "crying uncontrollably" when stopped by the police.

Petito also admitted to slapping Laundrie during the argument but no charges were filed.

September 17

A TikToker claimed that Laundrie allegedly offered her $200 to give him a ride as he hiked alone at Grand Teton National Park in Colter Bay, Wyoming on August 29.

The TikToker also said that the ride was only approximately 10 miles so it struck her as "kind of weird" that he offered to pay her $200.

Her and her boyfriend ended up dropping Laundrie off at the Jackson Dam after he "freaked out" when they mentioned the name of the area they were driving to.

September 18

Laundrie was reported missing by his attorney.

In a statement to reporters, his lawyer said: "Be advised, the whereabouts of Brian Laundrie are currently unknown.

"The FBI is currently at the Laundrie residence removing property to assist in locating Brian."

Laundrie's sister, Cassie, also appeared on Good Morning America and claimed Petito is "like a sister and my children love her."

In that interview, Cassie said that she had spoken to police but not her brother since he returned home.

However, on October 1, it was later revealed by the Laundrie's Attorney that Cassie was with her family at the Fort De Soto campground in early September with her brother.

September 23

The FBI issue a warrant for Laundrie's arrest claiming he "used unauthorized debit cards after Gabby Petito's death."

The FBI said:“On September 22, 2021, the U.S. District Court of Wyoming issued a federal arrest warrant for Brian Christopher Laundrie."

"The warrant was issued pursuant to a Federal Grand Jury indictment for violation of federal statute 18 U.S.C 1029(a)(1): 'Use of Unauthorized Access Devices' related to Mr Laundrie's activities following the death of Gabrielle Petito.”

FBI Denver Special Agent in Charge Michael Schneider then released a statement on Twitter saying: "While this warrant allows law enforcement to arrest Mr Laundrie, the FBI and our partners across the country continue to investigate the facts and circumstances of Ms Petito's homicide.

"We urge individuals with knowledge of Mr Laundrie's role in this matter or his current whereabouts to contact the FBI."

Laundrie is accused of stealing Petito's Capital One debit card and running up a $1,000 balance from August 31 through September 1, according to the indictment.

Dog the Bounty Hunter announces he will join search for Laundrie and says he will find him by his 24th birthday in November.

At the time, he believed that Laundrie was hiding out on the Appalachian trail.

Laundrie's sister, Cassie, appeared on GMA for a second time and urged her brother to come forward, begging her fugitive brother to "get us out of this horrible mess" following the death of Petito.

"I really wish he had come to me first that day with the van. because I don't know we'd be here," she said. "I worry about him."

"I hope he's ok and then I'm angry and I don't know what to think. I'd tell my brother to just come forward and get us out of this horrible mess," Cassie continued.

The interview came just hours after she broke her silence to reveal she "doesn't know" if her brother killed his fiancé – or if her parents are involved in his weeks-long disappearance.

October 7

Laundrie's father, Chris Laundrie, assisted law enforcement in the search to find his son.

"The North Port police informed me that they were focusing on certain areas of the preserve today and they were actually hoping that Mr. Laundrie could join them on that search," Steven Bertolino, the family's attorney told Newsday.

"Mr. Laundrie has consented and we are waiting for the call from the North Port Police Department to make that happen."

The Laundrie attorney also claimed his dad searched the reserve on his own on Monday, September 13, after his son didn't return home from a hike that night.

Bertolino later told Fox News that "Since the preserve has been closed to the public, Chris has not been able to look for Brian in the only place Chris and Roberta believe Brian may be."

"Chris and Roberta are hopeful there will be another opportunity to assist," he added.

However, the North Port police department also told Fox News that the department did not ask for Christopher's help.

October 12

Dr. Brent Blue announced Petito's autopsy results and confirmed she died by strangulation but was unable to say much due to the state's laws.

"We hereby find the cause and manner of death to be, the cause, death by strangulation, and manner is homicide," Blue said. "By Wyoming state statute, no other information will be released about the autopsy

"All I can really comment on is is that her body was outside in the wilderness for three to four weeks."

He was not able to reveal the results of her toxicology report but was able to confirmed that she was not pregnant despite many believing she was.

"It was just a matter of making sure we had everything right," Blue said when asked about the delay of results.

Laundrie's long-time friend also revealed to The Sun that he was a "heavier set social outcast” in school, claiming he was 40 pounds heavier when he was 14-years-old.
