A BRIT who featured in Netflix's 'Ultimate Conman’ is on the run after allegedly trying to run down a police officer.
Judicial sources claim Robert Hendy-Freegard, 51, deliberately drove into the cop while escaping from his hideaway in a rural town in France.
Two gendarmes had called round at the property in the rural town of Vidaillat, east of Clermont-Ferrand on Thursday.
But Hendy-Freegard reacted by accelerating his Audi A3 at them, it's alleged.
One policeman suffered serious facial wounds including "multiple fractures" and remains in hospital, while the other was treated for lesser injuries.
By Friday afternoon in France, a large-scale police operation was aimed at trying to find the fugitive.

"All the soldiers of the department have been deployed as well as a helicopter from the gendarmerie to try to find this person," a Gendarmerie spokesman said.
French authorities warned anyone who spots him should approach with care, and then call the police.
In March, the French authorities issued an order for Hendy-Freegard and Ms Clifton to shut their dog breeding business down.
The officers had originally arrived to check up on a Beagle-breeding business Hendy-Freegard was running with his partner, Sandra Clifton, 49.

One judicial source said: "An investigation has been opened for the attempted murder of a person holding public authority. The person responsible is being searched for."
'The Puppet Master: Hunting the Ultimate Conman' explores how Hendy-Freegard pretended to be an MI5 agent and made his victims believe they were IRA assassination targets.
In 2005, after an eight-month trial, Blackfriars Crown Court convicted him for two counts of kidnapping, ten of theft and eight of deception.
Sophie and Jake Clifton have alleged that Hendy-Freegard is currently coercively controlling their mother Sandra, who he started dating and moved in with in 2012.
The Netflix doc sees Sophie and Jake Clifton sending a heartfelt message to their mother, who has cut all contact with them.
