The NYPD on Thursday released video footage of a Bronx robbery that shows a pistol-wielding suspect swipe two neck chains worth a total of $20,000 earlier this month, police said.
In the footage, the suspect, wearing black pants and a black sweatshirt, runs up to the victim as he walked to his car near a barbershop on East 174th Street and Commonwealth Avenue at about 4 p.m. on July 9.
The suspect, who drove to the scene in a stolen car, pointed his weapon at the victim’s chest, demanded the chains and threatened to shoot him, police said.
The victim handed over the $20,000 worth of jewelry and walked off, the video shows.
The thief then sprinted to his getaway car, a 2016 black Honda Odyssey, which he ditched about two miles away on Bruckner Boulevard.
