- She also asked why there has been no ‘public statement condemning’ him
- By contrast, Buckingham Palace launched an investigation into bullying accusations made by former royal staff against Meghan last week

- Allred added: ‘The investigation into Meghan Markle is a distraction…I have to wonder if it reflects a calculated decision to take the focus off of Prince Andrew’
A lawyer for Jeffrey Epstein’s victims has questioned whether Buckingham Palace’s investigation into claims of bullying leveled at Meghan Markle ‘reflects a calculated decision’ to distract from Prince Andrew.
Gloria Allread, who represents 20 of the disgraced financier’s accusers, asked why Andrew has not been ‘stripped of the royal titles that he enjoys’ or why the Royals have not ‘made a public statement condemning’ him.
By contrast, Buckingham Palace said it was ‘very concerned’ by the bullying accusations made by former royal staff against Meghan as it launched an investigation into those claims last week.
Prince Andrew – the Queen’s second son – was forced to step back as a senior royal after his disastrous BBC Newsnight interview about his friendship with convicted sex offender Epstein.
In the interview, the duke denied an alleged sexual encounter with Virginia Giuffre, who claims she was trafficked by Epstein, saying he had no recollection of meeting her and had been at a pizza restaurant instead.
But he still holds a number of military titles, unlike Harry who saw his removed when he stepped back as a working member of the Royal family.

In a statement to the DailyMail.com Allred said: ‘Why does Buckingham Palace not conduct an investigation and make a public statement condemning Prince Andrew for failing to provide what is requested to those who are seeking the whole truth and justice for the victims of crimes against children?
‘Why has Prince Andrew not been stripped of the royal titles that he enjoys, as has been the case for Meghan and Harry? He has certainly not brought dignity and respect to his work as a royal.’
Allred is campaigning for Andrew to speak with US criminal investigators over his ties to Epstein, who committed suicide in his prison cell in 2019.
She told The Guardian: ‘Allegations about him [Andrew] are far worse than the allegations about Meghan Markle. Prince Andrew was a working royal when he became a friend of Jeffrey Epstein, who was a sexual predator.’
Allred added: ‘The investigation into Meghan Markle is a distraction, and it appears hypocritical under the circumstances. I have to wonder if it reflects a calculated decision to take the focus off of Prince Andrew.
‘It is long overdue for the palace to change its priorities and announce that it is conducting its own investigation of Prince Andrew.
‘In addition, it should immediately issue a statement condemning Prince Andrew for failing to provide full in-person cooperation in the ongoing criminal investigation by the United States justice department.’
Past and present employees have been invited by the Palace to speak in confidence about their experiences of working for the Duchess.
The investigation is believed to be centered around a trip the Sussexes made to Australia in 2018. The Duchess and her aides were said to have had a series of bust ups during the 16-day visit.

Allegations against Meghan were first reported by the Times which said Jason Knauf, the Sussexes’ then communications secretary, made a bullying complaint in October 2018 in an apparent attempt to force Buckingham Palace to protect staff.
Meghan’s spokesman said: ‘The duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma.
‘She is determined to continue her work building compassion around the world and will keep striving to set an example for doing what is right and doing what is good.’
In an interview with Oprah this week Meghan described feeling so isolated and miserable inside the royal family that she had had suicidal thoughts, yet when she asked for mental health help from the palace’s human resources staff she was told she was not an employee.

She also said a member of the family had expressed ‘concerns’ to Harry about the color of her unborn child´s skin.
Winfrey later said Harry told her off camera that the family member was not Queen Elizabeth II or Prince Philip, sparking a flurry of speculation about who it could be.
Harry also revealed the stresses the couple endured had ruptured relations with his father, Prince Charles, heir to the British throne, and his brother, Prince William, illuminating the depth of the family divisions that led the couple to step away from royal duties and move to California last year.
So far there has been silence from the palace about the interview.
