Camilla 'spat out her tea' at Prince Harry's 'ridiculous' suggestion for sorting out his rift with dad Charles | The Sun

CAMILLA reportedly "spat out her tea" at Prince Harry's "ridiculous" suggestion for sorting out his rift with dad Charles, it's been claimed today.

Harry and Meghan met with with Charles and Camilla while stopping off in the UK on their way to The Hague for the Invictus Games.

Relationships between the Sussexes and the royal family have been strained since Megxit – with Harry even telling Oprah his father had "cut him off" amid the rift.

And Vanity Fair has reported the Duke of Sussex suggested a mediator to help heal the rift when he met with his dad and Camilla during a visit to the UK at Easter time this year.

A family friend said: "Harry went in with hugs and the best of intentions and said he wanted to clear the air.

"He actually suggested that they use a mediator to try and sort things out, which had Charles somewhat bemused and Camilla spluttering into her tea.

"She told Harry it was ridiculous and that they were a family and would sort it out between themselves."

Harry's suggestion came when the current King organised a meeting with him and Meghan before their audience with the queen.

According to one insider, he wanted to make sure Harry wouldn’t be able to sweet-talk Her Majesty the way Andrew had and get her to agree to anything without Charles’s say-so.

And it's been further claimed that Harry and Meghan were late, meaning Charles had just 15 minutes with his son and daughter-in-law before he had to leave for the Royal Maundy Service at Windsor Castle.

William  and Kate were reportedly skiing with the children, and the Prince of Wales pointedly did not change his holiday plans.

Despite the rifts within the family, the Royals put on a united front by mourning together as one as a heartbroken nation paid their respects to Her Majesty.

Following the Queen's funeral, there were a number of signs that hinted at Meghan and Harry potentially coming back into the fold.

Harry and his brother appeared to put their differences aside for their grandmother as they walked side-by-side behind her coffin in the procession.

While both Charles and Will appeared to offer an olive branch to Harry during the many ceremonies.

However, recently a royal expert claimed that the Sussexes are not going to return to the UK any time soon, despite "thawing" relations.

"But I think we have to remember that Harry and Meghan's decision to leave was their decision.
