A LITTLE owl is hidden somewhere in the photo of this Derbyshire farm – are you eagle-eyed enough to spot it?
The bird's brown feathers are cleverly camouflaged into the stones of this scene, even though it's broad daylight.
The perfect picture captures a Little Owl, or owl of Athena, perched on a dry-stone wall in the idyllic village of Foolow in the Derbyshire Peak District on Friday.
Unlike other owls, the Little Owl can see colour and hunts during the day as well as night – this one is eyeing up the photographer.
The species can usually be found living in farmland, rural villages and parkland, often perching on fence posts or walls like this one to wait for prey.
You can spot the owls by their striking yellow eyes and mottled cream and brown coat.
They eat mostly moths, beetles, earwigs and earthworms, but are also in danger of becoming prey themselves.
Luckily, the broad markings on a Little Owl's back acts like an armour, deterring predators like sparrow hawks and even other large owls.
Keen bird watchers should try to attract more wildlife to their garden this summer with these six budget tricks.
The Sun recommends the best small changes you can make to feed the birds outside – although you would be very lucky to see owls, especially nocturnal species.
