CHAOS unfolded as families ran for their lives after fireworks launched into the crowd at a Christmas carol concert.
The horror moment was caught on video, and children can be heard shrieking in fear as they try to escape the out-of-control pyrotechnics.
The youngsters could be heard cheering at the display, at a Christmas Carols event in Australia, before they started to panic and flee.
It is understood two children were rushed to hospital, and several others were treated by paramedics at the event.
The chaos was said to have unfolded around 9.30pm on Sunday, local time, in Sydney.
Rachael Jackson, who witnessed the horror, told Daily Mail Australia: "The fireworks just went rogue and started shooting into the audience.
"I was up the front with my young son and we just heard hundreds of kids and adults screaming and running for their lives."
Rachael said the fireworks also launched at a nursing home across the street, and added: "It's a miracle nobody was killed."
Another woman took to social media in the aftermath revealing that her daughter is now "traumatised".
She said: "My daughter was hit tonight and is still shaking from a state of shock.
