Chilling CCTV shows teen killer showing pals how he bludgeoned boy, 16, with bike saddle as he's jailed for 17 years

A TEENAGE killer was caught on CCTV showing off to his pals how he had battered a boy to death with a bike saddle.

Chilling footage shows Ignas Stauryla, 18, waving his arm as he walked down the road after murdering 16-year-old Shanur Ahmed just a minute before.

Shanur was killed in a revenge attack outside Gallions Reach DLR station in East London on 2 March last year.

After being convicted of murder at the Old Bailey, Stauryla has now been caged for 17 years.

The footage shows him walking along and making the downward motion with his arm and then "boastfully" repeating it.

During his trial, prosecutor John Price told the court Stauryla may well have struck Shanur on the head more than once.

“Indeed, only a minute or so later, he is seen boastfully to demonstrate two overhead blows to his friends.

"He used a weapon to do so. When making that gesture, he must have known he had just left his victim lying unconscious or worse, on the ground.”

Footage also indicated Stauryla had been carrying some kind of weapon as he chased Shanur and one of the gang told cops this had been a saddle taken from a bike nearby.

Officers found the saddle on the wasteland where Shanur's body was found and it’s believed to have been used in the fatal attack.

Stauryla was among a group of youths who ambushed one of Shanur's friends at a bus stop outside Newham College in Prince Regents Lane earlier that day, stealing his phone.

The victim of that assault was rushed to hospital in an ambulance where he was visited by Shanur and five other friends, his trial heard.

Shanur and the others left the hospital in a cab around 7.20pm heading to the home of Sadiq Abubakar, 18, in pursuit of their friend's phone, it was said.

'”They say they were just there to ask for the return of the telephone, whereas its occupants speak of a threatening incident,” said Mr Price.

Around 7.40pm the two groups were then seen by a bus driver travelling near the DLR station.

Footage from the bus’s external cameras showed the six defendants chasing another group of six teenagers, one of whom was Shanur.

Detective Chief Inspector Laurence Smith, who led the murder investigation, said: “Shanur had his whole life ahead of him when it was cruelly taken away by another teenager in an act of needless violence.
