Chrispher Parker sentenced to prison for 2015 Loveland shooting

A Loveland man was sentenced Monday to 39 years in prison in the shooting death of a man standing on a Loveland street corner.

Christopher David Parker pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the 2015 slaying of 65-year-old William Connole, Larimer County officials announced.

Just before 11 p.m. on June 3, 2015, Connole was standing at the intersection of East First Street and St. Louis Avenue in Loveland when he was shot from a moving vehicle. Officers received reports of shots fired at a motorcyclist 15 minutes later.

According to a Monday news release from the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, the two incidents were turned over to the Northern Colorado Shooting Task Force, formed to investigate similar incidents that occurred in April and May of 2015.

“The Task Force pursued over 5,100 leads, conducted over 1,000 interviews, examined over 14,000 pickup trucks with similarities to the suspect vehicle, processed over 340,000 phone numbers via the appropriate court orders, and cleared 12 persons of interest,” the news release stated.

After nearly three years of work, the task force identified Parker as a suspect and charged him with murder in the death of Connole in March of 2018.

Parker pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in May. This week, he was sentenced to 39 years in prison, just one year short of the 40-year maximum.

“This outcome delivers justice to a man who terrorized our community, but the irreparable harm he caused can never be reversed,” Sheriff John Feyen stated in Monday’s news release. “The name of this murderer is not worth repeating, but Mr. Connole’s legacy will live on here in Larimer County as we remember the positive impact he made on all who knew him.”

Larimer County investigators, the Windsor Police Department and the FBI are still looking for information about two unsolved shootings that occurred in April and May of 2015.

Anyone with information about suspects involved in either incident is encouraged to call 970-498-5595, email [email protected] or contact the local FBI office, American Embassy or Consulate. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest, prosecution and conviction of the individuals responsible for these incidents.
