Civil servants are shown disputed ‘genderbread person’ graphic in presentation amid fears Whitehall is partnering with another controversial trans lobby group months after being told to cut ties with Stonewall
- Whitehall bosses are reportedly bringing in a gender, trans and intersex group
- The workshops claim that gender, attraction and sex sit on a spectrum of 0-100
- They are part of a government membership network that started at Home Office
The Civil Service is dishing out ‘genderbread person’ lessons to staff in what critics branded ‘unscientific nonsense’, reports say.
Bosses are reportedly bringing in a gender, trans and intersex group to show the gingerbread man-style picture to government workers.
The inclusivity workshops claim gender identity, sexual attraction and biological sex sit on a spectrum of zero to 100.
They are part of a cross-government membership network that branched out after starting at the Home Office.
Organisers say they want officials to learn to use ‘appropriate language/names/pronouns’ and ‘challenge inappropriate language or behaviours’.
It comes as it emerged government bodies partnered with controversial trans lobby group Global Butterflies after breaking apart from Stonewall.
Feminist critics blasted the move for spending millions of taxpayers’ money on training which they say crushes women’s rights.

The ‘genderbread person’ was shown to around 180 civil servants in February but has also been pinned up for diversity meetings across departments.
It claims anatomical sex is ‘male-ness’ or ‘female-ness’, which has been rubbished by some academics.

Director of LGB Alliance Bev Jackson told the Telegraph: ‘It’s extraordinary that the civil service continues to forge relationships with lobby groups masquerading as training providers to promote aggressively ideological and unscientific nonsense.
‘These lobby groups claim to be diversity and equality experts, but often misrepresent equalities law to undermine women’s rights and those of LGB people.
‘What’s particularly galling is they often claim to represent LGB people, when they are actually undermining our rights.’
Meanwhile the government also came under fire for partnering with Global Butterflies after cutting ties with Stonewall.
The firm, started in 2015 by trans woman Rachel Reese, works with the Armed Forces, Parliament, British Transport Police and the NHS Health Education England.
In lessons instructors reportedly tell bosses to ‘remove gender from all your written communications… and policies’.
They also allegedly call for companies to put in gender-neutral toilets and and ‘show your trans credentials’ by backing changes to trans’ laws.
They teamed up with the Government Legal Department and the Office of the Parliamentary Counsel to pen a guide on ‘drafting gender-neutral legislation’.
It is believed to have said legislators use the pronoun ‘they’ instead of ‘he/she’ and to not say chairmen or waitress.
The foreword, written by Global Butterflies directors, reportedly said ‘a significant percentage of the next generation of the workforce no longer sees gender as binary and expects to see a better approach to gender identity and expression in documentation’.

Global Butterflies said it worked with ‘many inclusive organisations in all sectors of the UK, both private and public sector bodies’.
The spokesman said workers are encouraged to add pronouns to their emails and social media to show ‘allyship’.
The House of Commons admitted to paying the company for a lesson last year but said there was no recurring relationship.
The Ministry of Defence also said it held a session with them – a panel discussion in 2019 – but said no money was exchanged.
The British Transport Police had not commented while the NHS and Government Legal Department refused to.
