Corrie McKeague's mum fears missing airman may have had drink spiked on the night he vanished

MISSING Corrie McKeague's mum says she fears the airman's drink could have been spiked on the night he vanished.

Nicola Urquhart said it was "possible" that the 23-year-old was drugged while on a night out in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

The 48-year-old former cop said: "I have watched the CCTV of Corrie in the doorway. From him walking in to leaving. Every single second.

"When Corrie slept in the door way it wasn’t because he was looking for somewhere to sleep.

"He slid down the wall he was leaning on. Then fell over on his side. It wasn’t what looked like a conscious decision."

She also wants police to re-question every witness under caution looking for inconsistencies reports the Mirror.

Corrie – whose girlfriend April Oliver gave birth to their daughter in June – has not been seen since September 24 last year.

Witness accounts and CCTV from the night show him sleeping in a doorway for at least an hour.

He was later seen disappearing behind a row of shops in the small Suffolk town, around eight miles from his base at RAF Honington.

Cops have been trawling a landfill site in Milton, Cambs, for for months, believing Corrie travelled there in a bin lorry.

His mum said last month that rubbish being found by cops trawling through the site suggests he could be found any moment.

She made the revelation on the Find Corrie Facebook group in an update to its 128,000 members.

Nicola said: "Due to the rubbish that is being found, if Corrie is in this landfill he could literally be found tomorrow. So we continue to wait for the phone call."

The search of the site in Milton, Cambs, was originally expected to take 12 weeks.

But Nicola said the area cops were still finding rubbish from September, when her son was last seen.

Corrie's girlfriend April, from Norfolk, was hospitalised after doctors feared the stresses of him being missing may harm the baby.

She revealed she was expecting Corrie’s child two weeks after his disappearance last September.

But the RAF gunner’s father Martin McKeague claimed Corrie knew she was pregnant days before he went missing.

Corrie, 23, was last seen on CCTV walking into a refuse area behind a Greggs after a night out with pals.

His mobile phone was traced as following a similar route to the landfill site, but it was initially thought he couldn't be there because the load was too light.

In March it emerged a blunder had been made and it actually weighed more than 15st 10lb.

Specialist search teams have so far sifted through around 4,430 tonnes of waste at the tip.

The search was due to finish in June but was expanded as items dating back to last September continued to emerge.

But a Suffolk Police spokeswoman said officers "really just don't know" when anything relevant will be found at the site.

She said: "It could be this week, it could be next week. We really just don't know.

"We've been finding things with those dates on throughout the search.

"While we are still finding things with the dates on the search will still continue."
