A CREEPY clown has been terrifying a town in the dead of night, banging on windows and spooking drivers ahead of Halloween.
The creepy dancing clown dressed as Pennywise from Stephen King’s It has been caught on video in Margate, Kent, scaring locals.
He bangs on pub windows, with one women clearly not amused. In another video, the clown terrified a man parked up in a car park at night who was so scared by the clown banging on his door, he quickly drove off.
But others have embraced the antics of 'Pennywise', with some trying to track him down so they can have their picture taken with him.
Mel Fryer beams in a snap with the eerie costume-clad guy, captioning the image: "Hey Penny!"
And Joshua Tollington tracked the character down to Margate seafront where he took a picture of him holding his trademark red balloon.
Another video of the clown shows him banging on the door of the Palace Cinema in Broadstairs, where he screams 'WOULD YOU LIKE SOME COTTON CANDY' at an employee who ignores him.
He is known to be terrifying Thanet's seaside towns, with Broadstairs and Ramsgate both targeted.
And he was also spotted outside Margate’s Wetherspoon venue, the Mechanical Elephant, over the weekend as well as the Captain Digby pub further along the coastline.
While some are finding his exploits hilarious, others are less keen.
It follows the ‘Killer Clown’ trend in 2016, where spooky clowns began appearing near schools and in other public places, petrifying people.
Rhiannon Hartley said on Facebook: "How long is this guy going to be around so I can stay home until then?" to which Lucy Oxley Poole replied: "And me."
Christine Tedham said: "My son Joshua Tollington found him too outside Spoons Margate."
Clara Rose Johnson said: “I'm refusing to go out at night until Halloween is over cause of this. I hate Halloween, last year I got chased by a group of people with baseball bats.”
And Chelsea Ryan said: "Never been so freaked out in my life."
HALLOWEEN CRAZY
The Halloween-obsessive has also set up his own page where he invites people to guess where he is.
They can track his latest movements on the Halloween Thanet page, where he is even offering a “free 30-minute scare visit” to people if they spot him out and about and post pictures.
One post reads: "So I am unable to post anything or put up any updates at the moment… I will be lurking in and around Ramsgate this evening, come and say hi.
"If you’re not too scared remember they all float down here remember keep your eyes peeled."
In a video taken outside a pub in Broadstairs, a police car even drives past him, which he waves out.
