Shamima Begum was spotted looking upset after the Supreme Court ruled she can't return to the UK to pursue an appeal against the removal of her British citizenship.
On Friday the nation's highest court ruled that the 21-year-old should not be granted leave to enter the country to pursue her appeal, launched after her citizenship was stripped back in 2019.
Begum was seen crying in a tent in al-Roj refugee camp in Syria following the news.
The former "ISIS bride" was also photographed walking through the camp wearing Western clothes including a pair of sunglasses, a dark jacket, black leggings and white trainers.
She has not issued any public comment on the latest twist in her story.
Begum was just 15 when she and two other London schoolgirls travelled to Syria to join Islamic State group (IS) in 2015.
Her British citizenship was revoked on national security grounds shortly after she was found, nine months pregnant, in a Syrian refugee camp in February 2019.

Ms Begum had been challenging the Home Office's decision to remove her British citizenship as she wants to be allowed to return to the UK to pursue her appeal.
Announcing the decision on Friday, Lord Reed said: "The Supreme Court unanimously allows all of the Home Secretary's appeals and dismisses Ms Begum's cross-appeal."
The Supreme Court unanimously held that the Court of Appeal was wrong to find that Ms Begum should be allowed to enter the UK to pursue her appeal against the removal of her British citizenship.

Lord Reed said the Court of Appeal wrongly "made its own assessment of the requirements of national security and preferred it to that of the Secretary of State, despite the absence of any relevant evidence before it".
The ruling means Begum can still challenge the removal of her British citizenship but will have to do it from abroad, likely meaning the al-Roj refugee camp where she is still being held.

Begum, along with 16-year-old Kadiza Sultana and 15-year-old Amira Abase, boarded a flight from Gatwick Airport to Istanbul, Turkey, on February 17 2015, before making their way to Raqqa in Syria.
The three schoolgirls from Bethnal Green Academy left London shortly after Sharmeena Begum, who is no relation, travelled to Syria in December 2014.
Begum's family lawyer claims the then-teenager had been "groomed for exploitation and trafficked internationally".
She married Dutch convert Yago Riedijk 10 days after arriving in IS territory, with all three of her school friends also reportedly marrying foreign IS fighters.
Begum told The Times in February 2019 that she left Raqqa in January 2017 with her husband.
Her children, a one-year-old girl and a three-month-old boy, had both since died.
A third child died in the al-Roj camp in March 2019, shortly after he was born.
