Retailers have recalled several products this month due to risks they might pose to customers.

The items – which include a life jacket which poses a drowning risk, a gas cooker which leaks carbon monoxide and a £500 e-scooter – were recalled by The Office for Products, Safety and Standards (OPSS).

As a result, Next and other retailers have also recalled the items.

Some of the safety fears include serious injury risk, drowning, fire and exposure to carbon monoxide.

Following a recall by the OPSS, it shares details on what you should do if you have purchased the product, and details on why the item is being pulled.

For the E-Scooter, the affected models have been recalled as it has been identified that some handlebar grips can become loose, posing a potential risk of injury.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery Regulations 2008.

Meanwhile, the Bluebell baby monitors are being recalled  as the app that supports the monitor system is no longer functioning correctly.

This means that there is a potential risk of the child not being monitored correctly, according to the GOV.UK analysis of the product.

As for the Fox and Fox rage life jacket, the item ‘presents a serious risk of drowning due to the absence of independent conformity assessment to demonstrate the product will perform when required.’

Finally, the Glen Dimplex Home Appliance Ltd gas cookers used with the grill door closed can ’cause extremely dangerous levels of carbon monoxide to be produced, which can pose a significant risk to health and death.’
