Denver weather: Weekend will warm up before cold front next week

The Denver metro area will experience several different weather conditions over the next week.

This weekend will begin with slight chances for thunderstorm Friday and Saturday before heating up to 90 degrees by Monday. Then, on Wednesday, a cold front will move into the area.

Friday’s high is 82 degrees, and there is a 20% chance of isolated thunderstorms moving east from the mountains after 1 p.m.

Weak potential energy in the Urban Corridor should limit the strength of any storms that do make their way into the area, though, and the storms will be stronger in the far eastern plains.

Saturday will also see mountain storms and a high of 82 degrees, this time with a 10% chance of moving into the Denver area.

Things will heat up after that, as Sunday has a high of 89 degrees and Monday has a high of 90 degrees.

Low temperatures will be in the 50s all weekend.

It’ll also be dry, and the National Weather Service warns of possible Red Flag criteria for a few hours each day due to some breeziness.

By Tuesday, though, moisture will return to the area, and cool Canadian air will move southward on Wednesday, bringing temperatures down to the 60s and 70s.

Late next week could see some burn area flooding due to showers during that cold front.
