The US President, set to be replaced by Joe Biden on January 20, was the sixth most followed account with 88.8 million followers as of November 2020.
But the once colourful account, @realDonaldTrump, is now blacked out with the words ‘Account suspended’.
Twitter said it is due to “the risk of further incitement of violence”.
“After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence,” the social media giant said in a tweet.
