Seedy behaviour! Eco vandals lead attacks on SUVs as they deflate the tyres of 100 cars… using LENTILS

  • Eco vandals reportedly stuck lentils into the tyre caps to deflate the tyres

Environmental vigilantes have claimed responsibility for deflating the tyres of more than 100 vehicles in Scotland last week.

The group, who call themselves the ‘Tyre Extinguishers’, targeted vehicles across Aberdeen.

It is believed that they stuck lentils into the tyre caps in order to deflate the tyres.

The group has carried out similar activities in Dundee, Edinburgh, and Glasgow.

A statement on their Twitter page said: ‘Aberdeen Scotland: SUVs disarmed last night in Ashgrove and Cornhill areas.

‘First action in Aberdeen, after previous actions in Glasgow, Dundee and Edinburgh! Great work!’

Martin Quinn said his Nissan Qashqai was targeted.

He told Planet Radio: ‘The first we noticed this morning was when my wife went to the car, she phoned me to say that all of her tyres were flat.

‘When I took off the cap which was already loose on the tyre I noticed there was a lentil under it and all the other tyres were the same.

‘My wife then looked up online to find out if anyone else had been affected by this and it seemed that a large number of people were complaining about it.’

Another group, the ‘Deflationists’, targeted the Shawlands and Newlands areas of Glasgow last summer.

The Tyre Extinguishers last year claimed to have deflated the tyres of SUVs in the Merchiston area of Edinburgh.

Police Scotland have been asked to comment.
