A thrilled dog owner has been reunited with her cocker spaniel exactly four years to the day after she was stolen.
Emma and Andy Hall’s spaniel Edith was taken from outside their home when she was just a seven-month-old puppy.
Mr and Mrs Hall, both 41, had all but given up hope of ever seeing her again.
But out of nowhere, they got a call from a vet to say she had been found 70 miles away.
A woman had taken Edith into her home on the outskirts of Yeovil, Somerset, just two weeks ago.
She took her to the vets and her microchip was scanned.

Edith was just seven months old when she was taken. After being found as a stray 70 miles away, an examination by a vet revealed she’d had at least one litter of pups
Mrs Hall, of Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, is baffled at the turn of events and says she doesn’t know where Edith has been since March 2018 and probably never will.
She said: ‘We received a phone call out of the blue to say Edith had been found and couldn’t really believe it.
‘There were lots of tears and we were ecstatic, over the moon.
‘To be honest after about six months to a year, we thought we’d never see her again and we were in shock.
‘But what a beautiful surprise.’
Missing posters for Edith failed to yield any results and Mr and Mrs Hall had all but given up hope of finding her until they received a call from a vet
Mrs Hall said Edith had one litter of puppies while she was missing.
‘We don’t really know or want to know anything else,’ she added.
‘But she’s home and that’s all that matters now.’
‘She is really well and the last two weeks has been with a lovely lady who has cared and looked after her.
‘We are so grateful that the lady took her in and went to the vets where she was scanned, this meant she came home.’
