Elon Musk’s girlfriend ‘ready to die on Mars’ and wants to move to red planet

It seems that Elon Musk's girlfriend Grimes shares his passion for the red planet and has staked her claim by announcing she is willing to die there.

This all works out rather well as her billionaire partner Elon probably has the best chance out of anyone on earth making those wishes a reality.

Turning to Instagram on Tuesday the 33-year-old musician wrote: "Ready to die with the red dirt of Mars beneath my feet Starbase Tx".

Along with the announcement on Instagram the Canadian musician, who has a baby with Musk called X Æ A-Xii, posted a dramatic photo of herself stood beneath two dark cranes wearing floral leggings, large black boots and a red styled skirt.

Grimes, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, has been dating Musk, 49, since 2018 when they made their first outing as a couple at the annual Met Gala.

Grimes had previously said that she plans to head to Mars when she reaches 50 even if it involves "manual labour until death," reports the Daily Mail.

Musk is famed for his involvement in the revolutionary electric car company Tesla but in recent years his fame has rocketed through the advancements of his company SpaceX.

Ultimately the overarching mission for SpaceX is to take humans to the red planet.

Yesterday, SpaceX experienced a failed landing of its prototype Mars rocket Starship.

The rocket broke apart in thick fog right before landing in Texas.

Sky News said it was the "fourth full-scale stainless steel model to launch since December to an altitude of more than six miles".

Despite his understandable disappointment, Musk Tweeted: "At least the crater is in the right place!"

The billionaire later tweeted that he plans to donate $30million to the local community to build up schools and infrastructure in the area.

It's believed to encourage engineers and staff to move out to the state to work at the company.

SpaceX plans to use Starship to send astronauts and cargo to the moon and, ultimately, Mars.
