A man has been arrested after a dispute between an employer and former employee at an Aurora business led to a fatal shooting, the Aurora Police Department said in a news release.
Lloyd Clifford Love, 35, of Aurora, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder in the shooting, but it’s not clear whether Love was the employer or the former employee in the dispute.
Officers first responded to a report of a trespassing at a business in the 16800 block of Centretech Parkway about 7 p.m., but while officers were on their way, the call was upgraded to a shooting.
When officers arrived, they learned the shooting stemmed from the employer-former employee dispute, police said. Medical personnel began providing life-saving measure to the victim, but that person died.
Love reportedly left the scene before officers arrived, and additional officers and Aurora SWAT in the area began searching for him. Denver police’s helicopter also assisted in the search.
Officers located a vehicle, performed a “high-risk traffic stop,” confirmed the suspect was a passenger in the vehicle and arrested Love without further incident, police said.
Anyone who may have information is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000 and may remain anonymous.
