A retired Pennsylvania cop facing over 100 child molestation charges was hit with additional charges last week for allegedly sexually assaulting a fifth teenage boy, prosecutors said.
The latest victim to accuse former Warminster Township police officer James Carey came forward just days after authorities announced the 53-year-old’s arrest in April, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.
Carey, who was a D.A.R.E. officer with the department, allegedly fondled and sexually assaulted the boy after catching the teen smoking marijuana, prosecutors said.
The former cop faces new charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors and official oppression.
Carey had already been facing 122 charges for allegedly sexually assaulting four boys on multiple occasions dating back to 1989.
After leaving the department in 2009, Carey reportedly later worked as a substitute bus driver for Dennis Township schools.
