FORMER football coach Barry Bennell has pleaded guilty to seven child sex offences.
Bennell, 63, was charged with 55 offences, including 42 counts of indecent assault.
He pleaded guilty to seven indecent assaults which took place between 1988 and 1991 at Liverpool Crown Court this morning.
The charges relate to three male victims aged between 11 and 14 at the time of the offences.
A jury is expected to be sworn in for his trial on the outstanding 48 charges on Tuesday morning.
The alleged offences relate to 12 complainants and are alleged to have happened between 1979 and 1991, when the alleged victims were boys aged between eight and 15.

Bennell entered the pleas as he appeared via videolink in court wearing a grey jumper. The court was told he has changed his named to Richard Jones and will be referred to as Mr Jones in the proceedings.
Bennell was a youth coach and scout at Crewe during the 1980s and 1990s before working for Manchester City and Stoke City.
He also coached junior football teams in Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire and Greater Manchester.
