AN ex-employee of Princess Diana’s brother has complained to police that he was named in fake documents allegedly used to gain access to her.
Alan Waller, who worked for Earl Spencer in security, wrote to the Met alleging unlawful activity.
It is alleged Martin Bashir ordered a graphic artist to fake two bank statements which helped trick Diana into giving him the Panorama interview.
They allegedly falsely suggested Mr Waller got money from newspapers and the security forces for snooping on Diana.
Ex-Paratrooper Mr Waller previously told The Daily Telegraph: “Bashir has effectively stolen my identity, stolen my banking information, and used it to frame me as the fall guy.
“I am the one person in all this who can go to the police.”
The BBC has commissioned an independent investigation.
In November, a graphic artist admitted to mocking up the fake statements.
Matt Wiessler said he feels he "played a hand" in events that lead to Princess Diana's death.
The heart-wrenching words came in Channel 4 documentary The Diana Interview: Truth Behind the Scandal.
Mr Wiessler, a graphic artist working on a freelance basis for the BBC who was sacked following his role in the forgeries, said: "When the whole story did play out and Diana unfortunately lost her life, I felt that I could trace it back to the interview Martin had done with her."
