On the second floor there is a kitchen and dining area and another bedroom with en suite and the top floor has a large living room to take full advantage of the awe-inspiring views across the harbour and out to sea.

Every floor also has a balcony to enjoy the views and sunshine from and there is a lift if you don’t want to tackle all the stairs.

The property is in a gated development and also has a garage and an allocated parking space.

Will Wright, from Waterside Properties, who are selling the house, said: ‘The house was built 14 years ago and has been owned by football manager Dave Bassett since new.

‘He loves it and loves the view but there comes a time to move on.

‘The development was designed to maximise the views. It is breathtaking. The property is south-west facing so you get the most unbelievable sunsets.

‘You can close the front door and you wouldn’t think anyone else is there, it’s really tranquil.

‘It’s an amazing house to live in but it is all about the views, most of the rooms look out over the harbour and you can see the famous Mudeford beach huts and the Isle of Purbeck and you can see the outline of the Isle of Wight in the distance.

‘There is always something going on in the harbour, whether that’s paddleboarding or kite-surfing so there’s plenty of activity to watch.

‘You can be on Mudeford Quay in under five minutes. Mudeford is getting more and more popular at the moment.

‘The house is unbelievable but actually what we are selling is a lifestyle. You can own a little corner of paradise.

‘People are moving out of towns, it’s about changing to that more relaxed way of life with people being allowed to work from home more.

‘And here you’ve not only got the harbour and beach, you’ve got the New Forest on your doorstep as well.’

Last year it was revealed that the Mudeford is home to Britain’s most expensive beach hut. The small 13ft by 10ft timber cabin was put on the market for more than double the price of an average home at £575,000 – despite having no toilet, electricity or running water.

The wooden cabins have always commanded premium prices but they are now selling for more than people pay for a four-bedroom house in many parts of the country.

There are about 360 huts on the Mudeford sandbank and the prices for them have increased over the past 20 years due to demand outstripping supply.

In 2002 the humble huts were selling for £73,000. The following year one broke the six-figure mark for the first time, selling for £100,000.

By 2005 they were up to £135,000. There was a dip in the market due to the credit crunch of 2008 but prices were up to £170,000 by 2012. By 2014 the price increased to £270,000, then £300,000 in 2018.
