Ex-model mum-of-three tore boyfriend's ear with bite and smashed his home during cocaine-fuelled rampage | The Sun

A FORMER model mauled her ex boyfriend as she smashed up his home during a cocaine-fuelled rampage.

Levi Barratt, 31, wounded her partner Shaun Collier, 53, when she sank her teeth into his ear after flying into rage at his property in Stockport, Greater Manchester in July.

Mum-of-three Barratt had been thrown out of the home after she began smashing up Mr Collier's belongings and left him needing stitches, a court heard.

During her rampage, she smashed a glass table and a TV before savaging her boyfriend's head as he tried to carry her out of the room.

In a statement to police the wounded victim said: "I will not forget Levi's actions that day.

"I feared the bite would cause permanent scarring and I'm concerned I might not have enough money to pay for the damaged possessions.

"I feel I have the power to forgive her but I also believe she deserves to face the consequences for what she has done. I'm just grateful for her for acknowledging her guilt."

Minshull Street Crown Court heard that Barratt had previously worked as a model, posing for a local agency, but had since become "heavily addicted" to cocaine.

The addiction led to her losing custody of her children, according to her defence counsel.

She admitted wounding and criminal damage.

Prosecutor David Less told the court: "The defendant and Mr Collier had been in a relationship. Mr Collier says they were together for six months but after it all ended he wanted to create some distance between them.

"On the 25th July of this year, the defendant attended Mr Collier's address. The defendant attempted to try and make up for her disruptive and unpredictable behaviour but this discussion soon turned into an argument and the defendant descended into a rage.

"The defendant tried to apologise when outside Collier’s house, although she was under the influence of drugs at the time."

He added that Mr Collier had gone to hospital the day after the attack to get a 1cm long laceration stitched up and to receive a tetanus injection.

In mitigation, defence council Damian Zelazowski emphasised Barratt's remorse and good character, as well as her diagnoses for bipolar disorder and depression.

He added that the defendant had entered rehab and was taking medication for her mental health issues.

Barratt was sentenced to five months in prison, suspended for a year.

She will also have to complete 30 rehabilitation activity days and be subject to drug monitoring for nine months.

Sentencing her, Judge Mark Savill said: "The defendant is very lucky that her parents have not turned their back on her as she has rather tested their patience over the years.

"She is also fortunate that the complainant has shown the good grace to forgive her for her actions."
