The ex-wife of Sotheby’s chairman Lord Dalmeny has launched a blistering social media tirade after her new partner was snubbed for an invite to a party.
Furious Caroline Dalmeny, 53, took to Instagram to lash out at the unnamed hosts of the society event, after they failed to extend an invite to her boyfriend.
A former defence policy analyst who has mixed with the likes of Sophie Wessex, she was once married to Sotheby’s chairman Harry Primrose – Lord Dalmeny.
She split with the aristocrat auctioneer in 2014 after two decades of marriage, and is now dating 54-year-old former Gurkha officer Jules Irens.
Lady Dalmeny said she had hoped Mr Irens would be able to accompany her to the upcoming society event.
But she said in her post that she was told ‘priority was being given to married couples’ due to the party being ‘crowded’.
In an astonishing social media rant aimed at the organisers, who she did not name, she referred to them as ‘vipers’ and said: ‘They are dead to me.’

She wrote: ‘Good morning everyone. A person who I thought was a very good and long-standing friend actually told me in writing this morning that the Frog couldn’t be invited to a party as it was crowded priority would be given to married couples.’
The term ‘the Frog’ is said to be a playful tribute to her boyfriend’s late, French-speaking mother.
She continued: ‘However they would still love to see me. I’m so upset and angry I’m on the very of naming and shaming the guilty.’
Born Caroline Daglish, Lady Dalmeny became a leading defence policy analyst, working with the well-known Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) think-tank.
In 1994 she married Harry Primrose, Lord Dalmeny, the son of the 7th Earl of Rosebery and chairman of famous auctioneers, Sotheby’s.
They split in 2014 after two decades of marriage and have five children together including 19-year-old triplets Lavinia, Celeste and model Delphi, who featured on the cover of Tatler last year.
After their divorce, Lord Dalmeny entered into a relationship with effervescent former model Martha Sitwell, although the pair parted ways in 2019.
In August this year, Lord Dalmeny married art director girlfriend Harriet Clapham, 33, at Barnbougle Castle near Edinburgh.

Among the wedding party was his ex-wife, who said she was ‘delighted’ to have Harriet as ‘a member of our extended family’.
Earlier this year, Lady Dalmeny was appointed as Chair of the Museum of the Home.
She holds a number of voluntary and leadership roles, including as a Senior Associate of the Royal Society of Medicine and as a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce and the Royal Geographical Society.
Asked for a comment on her post, Lady Dalmeny replied: ‘I’ve said all I’m going to say.’
