A father whose 23-month-old twins were killed by their mother has revealed his joy after his new partner gave birth to a baby boy.
Steven Ford’s toddlers Jake and Chloe were found dead on December 27, 2018, after their mother Samantha Ford drowned them at her home in Kent.
A court heard she had held them underwater in the bath on Boxing Day and left a note saying: ‘Please forgive my crazy mind’.
Mr Ford, now living in Hull, said the arrival of his son Rupert has given him ‘purpose in life once more’. His current partner Cristi gave birth at 10.22pm on Sunday.
He said it was a huge decision to have another baby and Rupert will know all about his late siblings.

He tweeted: ‘My 3rd baby, my 2nd son, my only child. ‘You’ve given me purpose in life once more, I’ll help you do great things with yours. I love you son x’
Jake and Chloe were found at the family home in Westwood, near Margate, after Ford was involved in a collision on the A299.
She drove without a seatbelt at about 100mph into the back of a lorry in a failed attempt to kill herself.
Mr Ford and his wife had separated in August 2018 after 10 years of marriage. A court heard Ford had struggled to adapt to life back in the UK after living in Qatar. Pictured: Steven with Jake and Chloe

Mr Ford and his wife had separated in August 2018 after 10 years of marriage. A court heard Ford had struggled to adapt to life back in the UK after living in Qatar.
Ford denied murder and prosecutors at the Old Bailey accepted her guilty pleas to two counts of manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility.
In August 2019, aged 38, she was given a 10-year prison sentence, which she began in a psychiatric hospital.
Mr Ford has previously spoken of his anguish following the tragedy, recalling the last time he saw his ‘beautiful babies’ alive on Christmas Day 2018.
The twins were, in his words, his ‘everything’. An inquest in January concluded Jake and Chloe were unlawfully killed.
