Body cam footage has captured the moment a Florida deputy helped deliver a baby boy in a 7-Eleven parking lot early Tuesday morning.

Deputy Jordan Ream from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call from a panicked father-to-be saying his wife was in labor and he didn’t think they would make it to the hospital in time.

Police arrived to the scene in Tampa within minutes around 5.30am Tuesday and ‘without hesitation Deputy Ream jumped into action to assist this mother in labor,’ Sheriff Chad Chronister said.

Within less than two minutes of his arrival a healthy baby boy was born in the passenger seat of the car.

‘I got there and the father told me the baby was crowning and starting to come out,’ Deputy Ream told Spectrum News.

‘That’s when I knew it was time for me to do my job,’ he added.

The couple have not been named by officials.

In the body camera footage Deputy Ream is seen running up to the passenger side of the car and telling the woman in labor to ‘just push, you’re fine’ as he grabbed the baby’s crowning head and assisted in the delivery.

‘Keep pushing, fire rescue’s here,’ he said as the mother breathed heavily.

Just before the baby is born Deputy Ream said: ‘Head’s coming out… keep pushing, you can do it.’

When the baby arrived and started to cry he told the mother: ‘Look it’s your beautiful baby boy.’

You can then hear the officer chuckling with joy as the new mom reached out to hold her baby for the first time.

When Deputy Ream arrived at the scene the panicked father-to-be said: ‘It’s crowning.’ The officer delivered the baby within two minutes

Body camera footage from another officer showed the baby’s father thanking Deputy Ream after his son’s birth’Thank you man,’ he said as he shook the deputy’s hand

‘Thank you man,’ the father said as he shook the deputy’s hand

As he walked away from the car Deputy Ream was out of breath and told the fire rescue officials: ‘I’m going to let you do your thing.’

Body camera footage from another officer then showed the baby’s father thanking Deputy Ream.

‘Thank you man,’ he said as he shook the deputy’s hand.

‘I really, really appreciate it. I was about to lose my mind. I’ve never – all the stuff I’ve been through in my life, I’ve never been through that,’ the father added.

The mother and her baby were taken to a nearby hospital and are healthy, according to Spectrum News.

Deputy Ream told the news station that delivering the baby was ‘easily (the) number one’ moment in his two years as a deputy.

In a press release issued by the Sheriff’s Office shortly after the birth Sheriff Chronister said: ‘While a car is hardly a place anyone would want to give birth in, Deputy Ream repeatedly reassured the new mom that she was in good hands.’

‘Immediately his training kicked in and he was able to deliver the healthy baby while keeping Mom safe too,’ he added.

‘I wish Mom, Dad and their new baby boy all the happiness. Congratulations!’
