The footage shows Remi in a pressure suit as he opens the visor on his helmet and talks into a walkie talkie.

He can be seen holding a selfie stick and giving a big thumbs up to the camera as the hot air balloon begins to ascend.

Shots of Remi taken at a distance from other hot air balloons show him holding up placards with the numbers 36 and 37.

Remi breaks the record live on Bruno sur Fun Radio and the video shows picturesque footage of the French region.

Towards the end of the montage, clips can be seen of how the balloon is inflated and the method Remi uses to get onto the top of the hot air balloon with a metal chair.

It also shows him being interviewed both before and after the world record attempt.

The Telethon campaign is a charity event that raises money to fund research projects on genetic neuromuscular diseases.

The target altitude of 11,932ft (3,637m) was a nod to the phone number digits of the Telethon campaign, 36-37, with Remi holding up placards in acknowledgement.

After completing the flight, Remi’s twitter account posted: ‘Small dedication to the whole team of Bruno sur Fun Radio! 3637m bar crossed standing on the Telethon balloon. Bah Karina, where were you?!’
