MULTIPLE people have been rushed to hospital after a chemical explosion.
The incident took place at Prime Pak Foods in Gainesville, Georgia, on Thursday morning, according to a local outlet.
A local elementary school said that the blast erupted following a "nitrogen leak," but confirmed it was "contained/not airborne."
The outlet also reported that multiple people were rushed to hospital following the Thursday morning explosion.
People were being treated in the emergency room, Northeast Georgia Health System told the outlet.
It has not yet been confirmed how many people have been injured or what condition they are in.
Lyman Hall Elementary school asked students to shelter in place following the blast.
In a statement on Twitter, Hall County Schools said: "Memorial Park Highway closed temporarily as officials address the situation.
"We will notify parents once the shelter in place has been lifted."
