Ghislaine Maxwell to spend 60th birthday & Christmas Day behind bars in hell hole prison as jury decides her fate

GHISLAINE Maxwell is to spend her Christmas Day birthday behind bars in a hellhole prison as a jury decides her fate.

The socialite turns 60 on Saturday, which she will spend in New York’s notorious Metropolitan Detention Center after jurors were sent home for the holiday.

The MDC has faced accusations of guards raping and beating inmates as well as squalid conditions for the hundreds of prisoners housed there.

Maxwell has repeatedly complained about her treatment and recently said her toilet was a rat infested open sewer drain.

She is accused of enticing and sex trafficking girls for multi-millionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, her former lover, to abuse.

Maxwell’s trial in Manhattan ended on Monday and by Wednesday the jury was still weighing up the six charges.

The 12 jurors told the judge they would like to resume again after Christmas, on December 27.

She faces spending the rest of her life behind bars if convicted

One of the the charges, conspiracy to sex traffic a minor, alone carries a maximum 40-year prison sentence.

During the trial, the prosecution portrayed Maxwell as a "sophisticated predator who knew exactly what she was doing."

Prosecutor Alison Moe said she was "the key" to Epstein's scheme of enticing young girls to give him massages, during which he would sexually abuse them.

"Epstein liked underaged girls, he liked to touch underaged girls. Maxwell knew that," she said.

The court was told three of the four victims testified that Maxwell had participated in the sexual acts, touching their breasts.

Moe also said that Maxwell had been the "lady of the house" at Epstein's properties

She handled every detail, including picking the lotions and oils for the massages, which always ended in sexual acts.

Maxwell "was Epstein's partner in crime," said Moe adding: "It is time to hold her accountable."

What emerged during the trial

  • Jury shown creepy pictures of Ghislaine Maxwell giving Jeffrey Epstein a foot massage.
  • Maxwell and Epstein pictured lounging in the Queen's log cabin at Balmoral
  • Ghislaine Maxwell laid out a schoolgirl outfit for her to wear while serving tea to paedo Jeffrey Epstein.
  • Trump, Andrew and Bill Clinton all flew on Jeffrey Epstein's private jet, the paedo millionaire's former pilot said
  • Maxwell handed Epstein's housekeeper a "degrading" 58-page booklet which shows staff were told to "see nothing and say nothing".
  • A framed photo of Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein kissing shown

Often sobbing as they gave evidence, four women described how they were lured into giving massages for Epstein by Maxwell.

These were in fact ruses and the prelude to their abuse by him, the court was told.

One, identified only as ‘Jane’ detailed how Maxwell recruited her at summer camp and made her feel "special."

She said sexual encounters with Epstein became routine, with Maxwell sometimes present.

Another, going by ‘Carolyn’ said she was usually paid $300 after sexual encounters with Epstein, often by Maxwell herself.

A third alleged victim was Annie Farmer, now 42, who said Maxwell fondled her breasts when she was a teenager at the New Mexico ranch owned by Epstein.

But her defence team countered that there was a lack of evidence to convict and questioned the accusers' ability to recollect quarter-century-old events.

The Charges

GHISLAINE Maxwell faces six charges over her alleged involvement with Jeffrey Epstein:

  • Conspiracy to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex act
  • Enticement of a minor 'Jane' to travel to engage in illegal sex
  • Conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity
  • Transportation of a minor 'Jane' with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity
  • Sex trafficking conspiracy
  • Sex trafficking of a minor 'Carolyn'

The team also argued that Maxwell was being used as a "scapegoat" for Epstein's crimes after he evaded justice.

Maxwell declined to take the stand but made a brief statement to the judge on Friday.

"Your honor, the government has not proven its case beyond reasonable doubt so there is no need for me to testify," she said.

Maxwell was arrested in July 2020 and has repeatedly been denied bail meaning she’s brought to the court every day from her jail cell.

The $20 million she had stashed in several bank accounts, as well as holding more than one passport, meant a judge deemed her a flight risk.

Her detention means she has spent longer behind bars awaiting trial than Epstein, who was found hanged in his New York prison cell in 2019.
