Grimes takes credit for Elon Musk challenging Mark Zuckerberg to a ‘d*** measuring contest’

  • Musk challenged Meta CEO Zuckerberg after branding him a ‘cuck’ on Twitter
  • The pair have agreed to take part in a cage-fighting match against each other
  • Grimes claims she  would ‘prefer the fight didn’t happen’ in a new interview

Elon Musk’s on-off girlfriend Grimes has bragged that she is the reason the Tesla CEO challenged Mark Zuckerberg to a ‘d*** measuring contest’ – after the pair agreed to a cage fight.

The musician, real name Claire Boucher, 35, said she would prefer the billionaires not to fight, before adding that it’s ‘not going to cause brain damage’.

She also took credit for some of Musk’s more explosive tweets, including where he called his tech rival a ‘cuck’.

Zuckerberg posted a laughing emoji on Threads – his new app to rival Twitter – replying at burger chain Wendy’s telling him to go into space to ‘really make Musk mad’.

The Tesla CEO then responded to a screenshot of the exchange with: ‘Zuck is a cuck’ and ‘I propose a literal d*** measuring contest’.

When asked about the ‘d*** measuring’ tweet, Grimes added: I’m going to take credit for that one’

Musk, 52, agreed to square up against the Meta CEO, 39, and said that the entire thing would be streamed on Twitter which he recently rebranded as ‘X’.

Speaking to WIRED, Grimes said she thinks that the cage match will happen, saying: ‘Elon is very strong, but Zuck seems like he’s been training a ton.

‘I would prefer that it didn’t happen. I love gladiatorial matches, but watching the father of your children in a physical fight is not the most pleasant feeling.

‘But it’s not going to cause brain damage, so actually I think this is good. Dudes need some outlet for trad masculinity. I actually think it’s making them respect each other more.’

When asked about the ‘d*** measuring’ tweet, Grimes added: I’m going to take credit for that one.

‘I was like, why don’t you cut to the chase and get out a ruler. I didn’t think he was going to tweet it.’

The former flames have two children together, and were spotted in Portofino together in late July, after dating from 2018 to 2022.

It comes after Zuckerberg said he is not ‘holding his breath’ over the fight, saying he proposed August 26 as a date for the showdown.

Musk said that the ‘exact date is still in flux’, before adding that he might need surgery on his neck and upper back.

During a broadcast on Sunday he said that the proceeds would go to a veterans charity, adding: “It’s a civilized form of war. Men love war.”

Zuckerberg also shot back at the suggestion that the fight would be streamed on X, posting: “Shouldn’t we use a more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity?”

He broke his decade-long Twitter silence by tweeting a Spider-Man meme to make the launch of Threads.

The Twitter-lookalike app, Threads, calls retweets ‘reposts’ and tweets ‘threads.’ It allows users to post up to 500 characters of text and up to five minutes of video.

Musk has also threatened to file a lawsuit over the platform, accusing it of poaching former employees to create a ‘copycat’ app.

Twitter lawyer Alex Spiro wrote in a letter: ‘Twitter has serious concerns that Meta Platforms (Meta’) has engaged in systematic, willful, and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property.

Musk is reportedly training in martial arts ahead of his head to head battle with Zuckerberg – which took the tech world by surprise

Zuckerberg and Musk joked about fighting each other – but now it appears that fight might happen in a courtroom after the launch of Threads

‘Twitter intends to strictly enforce its intellectual property rights, and demands that Meta take immediate steps to stop using any Twitter trade secrets or other highly confidential information.’

He also claimed Meta assigned those staffers to create ‘copycat ‘Threads’ with the intent to use Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property in order to further the development of Twitter’s competitor.

The decision to create the rival comes after Musk purchased Twitter for $44billion in October last year.

Musk has since spearheaded a series of controversial moves – including cutting staff and limiting the number of messages people can see a day.

That has caused the value of Twitter to plummet, with Fidelity recently estimating Twitter is worth just one-third of what Musk paid.
