Cameras captured the moment Vice President Kamala Harris nudged President Joe Biden during a press conference to remind him to mention the Miami condo collapse that has left 99 people unaccounted for and one dead.

The nudge came at the end of president Biden’s White House press conference on Thursday where he discussed the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill alongside VP Harris.

Biden wrapped up the conference and was ready to walk away, telling reporters he had a helicopter to catch as they shouted questions regarding the Miami condo collapse at him.

It was then Harris approached Biden and appeared to whisper ‘Florida, yeah,’ under her breath before walking away, at which point Biden says ‘Oh yes!  I apologize,’ and thanked Harris for the reminder.

There are currently hundreds of rescue crews continuing to scour through tons of rubble and desperate families wait for news of any survivors.

Horrifying surveillance footage captured the moment the building collapsed, sending a huge cloud of debris into the air

Officially, only one woman has been confirmed dead after the Champlain Towers South beachfront building collapsed at about 1.30am on Thursday in Miami’s Surfside neighborhood.

Authorities, however, have warned the death toll could climb sharply given there were 99 people still missing as of Thursday afternoon. It was unclear whether any, or all of them, were inside the building of the collapse.

Biden told reporters he has spoken with local officials regarding the building collapse, including Miami-Dade mayor Daniella Levine Cava.

‘I’ve spoken with, coincidentally, the mayor of Miami-Dade, was in my office yesterday, not about that, obviously, but I had a long discussion with her today,’ Biden said. ‘I’ve also spoken with, we’ve been in contact with congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz who’s in that district.’

Biden said he is waiting on the governor to declare the situation an emergency in order to provide federal assistance

Biden added that he is waiting on the governor to declare the situation an emergency in order to provide federal assistance.

‘We’ve gotten in touch with FEMA, they’re ready to go,’ he said. ‘They’re down inspecting what they think is needed, but I’m waiting for the governor to ask for a declared emergency, especially as we learn what might happen to the rest of the building.’

Biden said that his chief of staff Ron Klain has been involved with the situation from the beginning and is working closely with FEMA officials.

‘I say to the people of Florida, whatever help you want that the federal government can provide, we’re waiting,’ he said. ‘Just ask us. We’ll be there.’
