Social media has been able to capture the heroic actions of civilians of all ages, as the Daily Star recently reported how a teenage girl turned into a human shield to protect her brother during an attack.
Katya Vlasenko was hospitalised after she covered her brother with her body after her family's car came under fire.
But despite surviving the deadly attack, the 16-year-old had one thing on her mind in particular which she had to share with Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Ukrainian president visited her in hospital last week, which is when she told him that he had become a TikTok star after winning the hearts of people across the world.
