A man has had his finger sliced off in a brutal machete attack in broad daylight in Salford.
The violence – which had no obvious trigger – exploded on a street in the the Cheetham Hill area of the city.
Gruesome CCTV video of the attack shows the 30-year-old being set upon just after 7pm on Monday evening.
The footage shows a men dressed in black, holding the machete attack another person in a grey tracksuit.
In the video the victim is seen covering at the side of the pavement as blows from the blade are rained down in him.
An eyewitness said: ‘I saw two guys running to the taxi, then the machete swung and a guy’s finger was cut off.

‘He was telling us to find his finger. I’m still in shock. It is awful,’ he added to the Manchester Evening News.
Two men dressed in black are then seen running to a silver coloured car before making their getaway.
Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: ‘Police were called around 7.10pm (Monday 2 August 2021) to Bury Old Road, Salford to a report of a stabbing.
‘Emergency services have established a male had been stabbed.
The victim is said to have suffered life-changing injuries and lost at least a finger in the incident
Greater Manchester Police said that there had been no arrests as enquiries continued today
The attacker fled the scene and was seen getting into a silver car which then fled the scene
‘A man in his 30s has been taken to hospital with serious and potentially life-changing injuries.
‘No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
‘Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or 0161 856 5168 quoting incident number 2626 of 02/08/21.’
A shop worker, who did not want to be named, said: ‘It is quite normal, there’s been a few. There’s been four since I have been here, I think.’
‘You have got to be aware of who is about. I try to keep myself to myself. When I get something to eat I come straight back.
‘I don’t know anyone round here, I only know the customers.
‘I have no reason to come here — I never came here before.’
