  • The female skier, dubbed ‘Mrs Bean’ after the British comedic character, was seen in the background of a weather report at Seven Springs Mountain Resort
  • Reporter Abbey Way remained unaware of the events unfolding behind her as she continued the report while the woman struggled to make it down the steps
  • The video has since garnered thousands of retweets and recognition from celebrities such as former NBA star Rex Chapman
  • Resort spokesman Alex Moser has since revealed the incident was part of a series of pre-planned gimmicks that have been included in recent reports

A televised weather report captured the hilarious moment a klutzy female skier was having a ‘Mrs Bean’ moment as she was seen holding on for dear life before having a fall from grace down a series of snow-covered stairs at a Pennsylvania ski resort

Reporter Abbey Way was giving a weather update outside the Seven Springs Mountain Resort on Thursday when a woman behind her completely stole the spotlight as she was seen struggling to make it down the snow-covered stairs.

The woman, subsequently nicknamed ‘Mrs Bean’ after the fictional British sitcom character known for his physical comedy gimmicks, could be seen in the background throughout the video clinging to the sides of the railing before slipping entirely down the stairs.

She completely stole the attention from Way, who was seemingly unaware of what was happening behind her, and has become a social media celebrity.

Ski resort spokesman Alex Moser has since revealed that the stumble was actually one of many pre-choregraphed stunts that were being used in reports at the resort over the past month, and that Way ‘doesn’t usually even know what’s going on behind her.’

After losing control and her ski poles, the woman managed to pick herself back up for another attempt down the stairs

The Thursday weather report started out like any other as Way was captured outside the resort giving an update on the snowy conditions.

From the beginning, an unidentified woman wearing typical ski garb and boots can be seen hanging on for dear life onto the railing as she attempts to make her way down the stairs.

She then is seen slipping on the stairs as she completely loses control, dropping her ski poles in the process.

The report continues to go on with Way oblivious to the events unfolding behind her.

The woman is then seen picking herself back up and clinging back onto the railing.

She then is able to make it down the stairs successfully without any further slips or spills, but she manages to make one final stumble after reaching the ground before hitting the slopes.

She slowly walks away in the background as Way gives her report.

Since the video has been released, it has since garnered more than a million views and significant social media attention, including from celebrities such as former NBA start Rex Chapman.

Other users have also shared in the humor as they noted the comedic timing of the female skier during a seemingly ‘professional’ weather report.

‘The way it cuts from the ski footage back to her had me in tears,’ @riley_fox tweeted.

‘She should probably just always wear that helmet,’ @philzer18tweeted.

‘She was just taking her skis to her ridiculously small car, parked just outside the shot,’ @ChicagoMSTie tweeted.

Former NBA basketball star Rex Chapman retweeted the Thursday video on his Twitter page

Social media users have since shared in the humor of the situation after the video went viral

‘We’ve been trying to do something a little different this year with something humorous going on in the background … trying to make it a little more interesting,’ Moser told TribLive. ‘Abbey doesn’t usually even know what’s going on behind her.’

Another weather update from the network shows a Grinch tackling an ‘unsuspecting’ skier during a Christmas Eve report.

A figure dressed up in a Santa Claus costume was later seen attacking him as the skier was then seen running away.

The Grinch was then seen laying there for the remainder of the report.
