Homeless man assaulted elderly victim in NYC, cops say

A homeless man has been arrested for punching an elderly man who confronted him for blocking a building entrance in SoHo, authorities said.

Suspect Kuldeep Sharma, 39, was sitting or laying down in front of a building on Broadway near Broome Street minutes before 9 a.m. July 28 when a 74-year-old man asked him to move, cops said.

Sharma became irate and repeatedly socked the senior in the head and face — without saying a word, police said.

The attacker then bolted from the scene.

The victim was left with a swollen face and lumps on his head, police sources said.

Sharma was picked up by cops at 5:20 p.m. Thursday and charged with felony assault in the attack, cops said.
