A LOTTERY winner has admitted he regrets scooping the jackpot – saying: "Third prize may have been better."
Anoop, from Kerala, India, bought his ticket on September 17 after he took money out of his son's piggybank – but he now regrets that decision.
He was planning on travelling to Malaysia the day after he won for a new job but instead found himself in the news.
The lottery win was the highest prize in the state, and Anoop has since claimed he feels forced to move house so he can escape the attention.
Anoop said in a video online: "I was overjoyed when I won. There were people and cameras at the house and we were happy."
However, the winner expressed that the media attention started to have a negative impact on his family and himself.
He said: "I can't leave the house, I can't go anywhere. My child is ill and I can't take him to the doctor."
The driver insists the most annoying outcome has been people arriving at his house everyday and asking him for money.
He tells them: "I haven't gotten any money yet."
But he added: "No-one seems to understand my problem, no matter how many times I say it."
His family have even had to stay with other relatives to avoid the limelight.
The 250 million rupees will decrease to 150 million after taxes and the state government have said they will organise a financial training day for Anoop to ensure he spends his money wisely.
Another lottery winner, Joshua Winslet, who won £13 million in the lotto when he was only 22-years-old, may have benefitted from the same financial advice.
The former plumber quit his day job and squandered his money on drink and drugs inside his New Port mansion.
A mum-of-two, from Birmingham won £3.6 million in July this year after buying a last minute ticket.
